My kit has a cast aluminum elbow for the IHI that came on Tbirds. Other than that, your guess is as good as mine.

Some people say it won't fit mustangs because of clearance issues. So are the cores different or just the mounting brackets? The end tanks are rivited on including the brackets. So there's a possibility that the same cores with different brackets were used.

The turbo coupe one will not fit a mustang without cutting a big hole in the bumper cover. The thunderbird nose sticks out a lot further than the mustang. I have been dealing with these cars since 1984 when I bought a new svo. I have never seen a ford motorsport kit for capri or gt turbo. I have one from callaway with a 5th injector. It is a small intercooler front mount below the bumper.

If this kit does indeed go in front of the radiator, likely to accommodate the different bumper designs between the cars.

Yet the GT kits were available. I guess they are super rare though.

Think of how rare the Turbo GT's are and how the creation of the SVO didn't help any.

Why would the kit have an elbow for an IHI ? Those were on the 87-88's, and those were already intercooled. Is it the elbow for the top of the non-intercooled turbo ?

My mistake. It's for the pre intercooler cars.
