    New to SVOCA!

Hello! Just wanted to introduce myself since I just completed verification and am a new member...
I joined because I'm looking at buy an SVO and wanted to come to the experts so I've been browsing around the forum doing research. Debating an 1985 SVO as daily driver.... Thoughts? What do you think it's worth? 1985 SVO with 1985.5 headlights, new paint, new tires, and 80,000 miles. What would you be willing to pay in SoCal?

    My guess would be $7500.

Not sure if I would daily-drive it, but in SoCal it may just be an option. I would be on par with Mike's value based on the pics, looks like a pretty good SVO.

I keep reading about "certain parts" being hard to find. What are those "certain parts" to be aware of?

+ Bi-wing, dash panels (they're flocked, so replacing them with something not SVO will look different), SVO-specific tail light housings, steering wheel, shifter handle, engine cooling lines, decent heater core, upper strut mounts, lower control arms/balljoints, steering rack.

There are some aftermarket bits available, but the parts above are unique to the SVO, so replacing them with SVO-specific parts is getting difficult, at best.

    Oh, and welcome!

Welcome to SVOCA. I daily drove my SVO for many of the last 10 years (3 seasons since I live in the rust belt). It was a great car to drive.

The only issue is if you get into an accident / fender bender as some of the SVO specific parts are getting harder to find.

Last year I retired my SVO to pleasure only cruising as I moved it from my regular auto policy to my Hagerty insurance policy.

    Good luck with your search!

Solvang, wow, I just saw that. Vandenberg, Lompoc, Santa Maria area. I remember it fondly. We were stationed there when my Dad was one of the missile silo commanders there during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Ya, it's a beautiful area! We love living here. Unfortunately deal fell through on SVO I originally posted about but I'm hoping another one will come up soon so keeping my account!
