    The "Tiny Terror" engine project

The conversations in the SVO Tech engine section thread about the Nissan HR12Dxx have convinced me this is the perfect engine for the SVO. The plans call for >360whp @7500RPM and >2000RPM wide band of >266ft-lbs of torque. The result should be an < 8lb/whp SVO! I'm considering the following two choices for the project parts for those interested:

    Bio-Diesel version
    1. 40GPH fuel pump
    2. 100lbs/hr high impedence injectors
    3. turbo & IC piping
    4. hi pressure hose couplings and fasteners
    5. 3 into 1 tuned exhaust primary (manifold)
    6. Bell seal kit (Nissan may have Ford bolt pattern)

    E85 vesion
    1. 60GPH fuel pump
    2. 150lbs/hr injectors
    3. turbo and IC piping
    4. hi pressure hose couplings and fasteners
    5. Bell seal kit (Nissan may have Ford bolt pattern)

The budget I'm planning for this is $7500 with a fully dyno tuned ECU. I'm sure I'll have to upgrade all the fuel lines and hoses for the E85 upgrade but what else will I have to change if I go biodiesel? What do you guys see as the challenges I'm likely to encounter?

Assuming a stock 1986 SVO, here is the weight calculation:
    3028lbs. (dry)
    1696lbs. (front) plus 14lbs. (oil) 1710lbs.
    1332lbs. (rear) plus 90lbs (fuel) 1422lbs.
    average driver weight (unapportioned) 168lbs.
    1422lbs (rear) plus 56lbs. (apportioned)
    1710lbs. (front) plus 112lbs. (apportioned)
    1478lbs. (rear adjusted)
    1822lbs (front adjusted)
(300lbs.) weight reduction off front using HR12Dxx engine
    1522lbs (front adjusted with HR12Dxx)

The result is pretty close to a perfectly balanced 3000lb. car with most of the weight inside the wheelbase. Treat the rear and you might be spot on 50/50 weight distribution. That alone should be interesting to SVO owners without even considering the super car result in top speed.
