Still has lots of good parts. I'm wondering if it already had a Salvage Title? The door latch screws on the driver's door aren't painted over so the paint in there is most likely original. I'm guessing this is a state / DMV generated door plate. I also see an alternator swap. Maybe somebody made an error when going to a single wire alternator?

Ken, your thoughts were right where I was thinking...kinda scary! That door tag is interesting as it is stamped and riveted to the door. Based on the fire pattern, makes me think the alternator overpowered the stock alternator wire and smoked the electrical harness under the hood and dash. Car wasn't 'perfect' but it looks like it was in decent condition, shame it met its fate.

Wow, that SVO cooked. I rebuilt one years ago that had a fire under the dash...started at the radio which was installed incorrectly. Car was salvageable and went back on the road. This one is LONG gone.

Ouch, that's tough to look at. Maybe make a track day car out of it with a fully stripped interior?
