Actually you'll need the larger diameter wheels to clear the calipers. The general rule is 12 inch rotors with low-profile calipers need 16 inch wheels minimum, medium to high profile calipers need 17's.

13 inch rotors will require at least a 17 inch wheel with a low-profile caliper. If you've got fat calipers - or wheels that are too thick on the inside webs, then you will need 18" wheels.

Sometimes a spacer moving the wheel away from the rotor/caliper will gain clearance from the rounded webs on the inside - with the associated incrase in track. I recommend at least 1/4 inch of clearance from the caliper on all sides; half inch is better. Better cooling and you can still get a brush in there when washing the wheels.

I've got 99 Cobra's on there now. There 17x8. But with the 01 GT spindles and control arms the outside edge of the tire is damn near even with the fender lip. I really want 17x9's anyways. I'm gonna see if I can get a good deal from Steeda on a set of Ultralites since I buy stuff from them all the time and I'll be picking them up. Also forgot I've got to put in a tranny also mines making some nice noises.

It needs a full tune-up: plugs, wires, cap rotor, PIP, TFI. Since it will all be apart, I suppose I will put on the new I/C hoses I have.

Finally give it a good bath. It still has some Mid-Ohio dirt on it.

    project

I was hoping to have the back half of my car fixed so I can drive it to the reunion. Body shop is putting me on hold due to the amount of work that has to be done. Still buying the aftermarket goodies for it as it sits in the garage waiting patiently for repairs. Hopefully I will have it done in time... pics will be taken of the rebuild of the back half. I already got all the stuff for the sn95 swap and I got a set of subframe connectors for the body shop to install. Still need to get the exhaust done when it gets out of the shop.

The main thing I have to get done on the new 9L before the reunion is a fuel pump swap. Everything else is cosmetic.

The things that need to be done to it as part of the restore is:

    -Rearend front seal.
-Tranny rebuild to fix 4th to 3rd shift problem.
    - Fix the A/C
    - Repair some wiring harness ugliness
    -new carpet
    - new dash pad
    -repaint rear panels
    -etc., etc., etc.

    One word - Tires

AC upgrade would be nice too, but summer is almost over and I doubt the weather will be all that hot on Oct.
