Airy time I think I'm gettin' over somp'um always goes wrong

    Supposedly.......

Hey Jay, supposedly a bigger tire didn't do that much better on the skid pad I thought I read somewhere.........Heck it might have been tested by Fords original engineers.....You want a certain look though.....Sell 'em/ I'm going to buy those Kuhmo MX soon- I bought a set for my SAAB/ Terriffic ride & handling/ What a difference.......

yeah, this size looks like ballons on the stock rim.I think I'm gonna go w/different wheels(17"w/205/40/17) and put my stock rims up to get redone.unless I find a better set up for the same amount of money.
      Any suggestions?

205-40-17 are too small, if your going to put 17's on the car you should try 235-45-17 or 245-40-17 but do a search 1st and read what people haved talked about already.

            Tires

I have the 245/50 x 16 Continentals on the stock rims.

The left front tire wore a hole in the plastic inner fender panel at stock ride height after a few hundred miles.

Other than that I love them. Most of my SVO's are in cruise mode and those 245's just fit the bill.

If I wanted to choose a more agressive stance I might try 225's on the front and 245's on the back.

Well im gonna have to do something and soon.I drove the car today around town and the tires scrub over any kind of significant bump. The 225's never srubed.I knew the 245's would be wider but lower profile but I did'nt think a/b it at the time, both the 225's and the 245's are 50 series...therefore the 245's are taller...50% of 245mls is more than 50%of 225mls.So thats the delima. So im thinking the 205 or 215 17" with a 40or 45 series would be the same height as the stock profile but a more up todate look. I dont really like the wider tire look and with the wider rearend it looks even worse to me.
SVO4 what set up do you have?
Ill try to post pics sunday afternoon when I get back from MXing...if Im still in one piece, LOL.

The combo i'm running now is 235-45-17 & 255-40-17 on american racing rims 17x8 & 17x9.5. I have a set of 17x8 billet rims for sale check the for sale section for a pic. 205-40-17 are too small for the car but ya can do what ya like

I have Yokahama AVS Intermediates 245/50-16 on stock rims and suspension. No rubbing on the street or autocrossing. Wierd.
205s are too small. Good Luck.

I've ran 245/45/16 on stock rims and they didn't rub at all. They were the Kumho Victoracers for autox. They didn't seem to look much different than the 225/50/16 stock tires. No rubbing.

I just got a set of the Kosie K1 rims. 16X7.5" I'm going to be running Hoosier 245/45/16's on them. On a 16X7" rim, the Hoosiers bulge out quite a bit. I'm hoping the extra .5" width will help.
Hoping to get on the track soon
