  • 84 & 85 Headlight Adjuster Option

I was converting my 84 back to the recessed lights and found both my upper headlight adjuster mount on the header panel had cracked. The repair was completed however the headlight adjuster for the recessed lights is a spring clamp/interference fit pressing outward on my newly repaired mount. It will break again. So, I found an alternative. Having freshened up a 70 Boss, I had a few parts left over that I didn't use. One of which were the headlight adjusters. Same principal, different mounting. The early model adjuster is held in place by two machine screws. Not gonna go into great detail because it's pretty self explanatory. Drill a couple of holes, attach a couple of screws with nuts and walla. Not sure if it's better or not but it does spread the load out over the bracket and it works.

Good to know. I'm sure mine will break in time as well.

sometimes you have to temper your soul before going down such an in depth endeavor.

having said that, i know my headlight adjustment bolts are on their way out; thanks for a work around for when they finally give up the ghost.
