In case anyone was wondering....here is what we did....

              1) swapped out stock rack for a SN95 one....the one we put in is a low-mileage '03 Mach. We swapped the lines from the stock rack since the fittings into the power steering pump are slightly different. I kept the SN95 tie-rod ends. This swap will also requires a new rag joint. MM sells one that is designed for this swap. MM Part# MMST-13. The benefits to this swap is slightly better road feel with slightly higher effort and more linearity than the Fox steering rack (according to articles I've read). New poly-bushings were pressed in too.

              2) SN95 spindles. I'm using a set of SVO A-arms from Roberto2000 machined for SN95 ball joints.New poly-bushings were pressed in too.

              3) Yellow Konis designed for SN95. Part# 8741 1401Sport .

              4) MM Caster/Camber plates.MM Part# MMCC7989.

              5) MM/Stoptech stainless braided brake lines. MM Part# MMBK6F or MMBK7F. The part number will depend on the coursesness of the banjo bolt you require. The Mach brake calipers I'm using (M-2320-MH1) requires the course thread. From what I've read though, PBR changed sometime mid-model year.

Another interesting thing about these brake lines is I required NO adapter to bolt-in to the stock front body lines.

So, that's it. I've still got to bleed the brakes, select rotors and bolt-on the new rims. Then its off for an alignment. The goal here was to update the front suspension without going completely crazy or putting in an entire SN95 front suspension. I believe this set-up will give best of both SVO and SN95 worlds....

                  Decisions.....decisions......

Just spoke to Charlie @ Evergreen and I'm trying to decide if I want to take this recently acquired turbo and just do a stock re-build or upgrade it to a T3/T4 hybrid......

So, anyone have some thoughts? It's a driver and nothing more......(although I think we've all said that at one time or another).

Aren't you going to slap a Boport stick in it, seem to remember you having one ? Mine as well go with a T3/T4 hybrid then.. right? Or you can have it upgraded to a T3/T4 and I'll swap you my rebuilt T3 with a new center section for it..
Seriously you may as well upgrade, your going to do it anyway, it's just "When".

Well....since the weather is getting nicer, I decided to start some additional upgrades....gotta love scope creep

                      1) Waiting on a head from Bo-Port. 1.1 Cam w/ Stage 3 porting.
                      2) Installing ported in-line intake.
                      3) Changing over to water cooled turbo set-up.
                      4) Install the FMIC I had in my old blue car.
                      5) Install Cobra MC.
                      6) Some general detailing underhood......

Hmmmm, sorta looks familiar. By pulling the head, did you figure out why the car was smoking?

I'm diggin' and jealous of the windshield banner. I think the 80s FMS logo is my all time favorite

Well...the head gasket looked good. Eric M put in a Felpro 1035. I noticed some wetness inside the exhaust ports on 2 and 3. I found coolant inside the intake side of port 2. I also noticed coolant inside the brass fitting and tubing from the intake side of the PCV set-up. Soooo....my guess is the head has a crack in it somewhere.

Owning both I'd recommend upgrading a stock T3 and avoiding the hybrid. Charlie machines the housing for a larger wheel which works very well IMO. Hybrid has some potential fitment issues and is a little lazy on a stock motor. I also really liked the top end of a .63.

                              Nice work on the car!

A bit more progress...however, I'll be on a month delay since I'll be outta town starting tomorrow. All-in-all though, it should be back together for Carlisle.
