  • Clutch Cable mess. Pics please.

Can anyone please post a picture of what a proper clutch cable connection should look like at the bell housing end? This car (86 svo) has some cobby setup with all-thread, about 4 nuts, and some lame-*** pivot point with more slop than a farmer at pig feeding time!

I think I need a clevis with the ability to take a mushroom ended cable. I bought the maximum motorsports kit and I'm not sure now whether that is correct.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SVO has 2 cables. Where the threaded rod is on yours, there is supposed to be a short cable usually referred to as the dogbone cable. http://www.partsamerica.com/product_...or/4170303.jpg

No, the threaded mess is on the long cable that attaches to the lower pivot on the lever arm. The dogbone is on the top. Right?

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed. I'll post a pic of what I got in case someone else runs into it in the future.

                  MM universal clutch cable, isn't.

I'm going to have to modify it to work. I'll post pictures this weekend. Thanks to everyone for posting the pics, I picked up the clevis. Picked up a pin and hairpin. The mushroom end of the MM cable won't fit. I'll resize the mushroom and end to fit in the clevis, might have to grind the lever arm also.

Here are pictures of the offending cobbed up adjustment and MM "universal clutch cable.

I opened up the clevis end to get the cable to work.

After grinding down the mushroom, I ended up splitting the clevis, inserting the cable and welding it back up.

                      And, here it is:

I know what you have there, I have the same cable too, with the threaded end on it. Its an dadjustable cable for 5.0 application. Mine is a BBk and when I was looking for a replacment, I could not find one directly made for SVO. I destroyed my whole stock adjuster set up, as well as the clutch pedal lever its self. This was due to a bad bearing retairner,( the sleeve around the tranny shaft , on which the through out bearing slides). So I looked for an adjustable one, no luck ; setteled for a 5.0 kit from BBK and made a bracket if you will to attach it to the tranny. End results it works. Any way what u have there is an adjustable kit for a 5.0 man
