  • e-brake connection

OK I found out why my emergency/parking brake was not working...

It wasn't connected! both cables were just hanging down in the back not conected to anything.

Good to know this should be a simple fix but leaves me with a problem. The pins that connect the cable to the lever on the rotor are missing. Anybody have a spare set of these or know where I could get a set?

Checked with 3 local Ford dealers and all of them stated it is discontinued and no longer available. Looks like the part number is N802145-S2. Tried Napa but they had no idea what I was talking about.

You should be able to find yourself a small bolt that fits in there... I had to do that on one of mine.

I found the following parts at the local ace hardware and was able to use them in place of originals. The clevis pin is 3/8 diameter and was cut down to the needed length and bronze washers were used. The holes on the lever on the caliper had to be drilled out to match (3/8). The replacement cables I bought from forced4 were already 3/8 and no modifications were needed. I believe the total price came out to $7.40.
