New guy here. I am in the AF as a F-16 Crew Chief.

Been into stangs for years and have been wanting to pick up a SVO for who knows how long. I haven't come across the right one yet and with me being overseas it's even harder to get one. I think I am at the point now that if I find the right one I will pay to ship it here to me!

I have a 89 SSP and a 80 Cobra 2.3T. The SSP has the normal bolt ons with Maximum Motorsport suspension. The Cobra is all stock with my old SSP brake set up.

Well let me be the first to say Welcome

I have seen your posts over at FEP. Didn't you have some video of driving in the mountains in your SSP?

I'd also love to go for a ride in that F-16. Does in have a passenger seat? HAHA

Welcome, are you up at ramstein or spang? I'm down in aviano. I was wondering if you knew any one down here? Well any ways welcome and I wish you the best luck with finding an SVO.

Thanks,I know lots of people down there. I was stationed there before I came to Spang. I am coming back down next weekend. Going to see Rudy and Alby if you know those guys.
I was the one that was supposed to end up with that black 86 SVO that is there. Oh well, I will keep looking

Oh I think your talking about my car. I think I have met you before. You know alby and rudy rite. I have made that road trip many times an well. i really like running through the long tunnels on the way to barcis.

Yep, I was a day late on telling her my offer on the car. I was figuring up the price of repairs so I could make her a decent offer. You snooze you lose!
Yeah, that road is a blast. I love taking it up the mountain around the backside to Barcis and back to town. We used to take mustang cruises up through there all the time when I was there.
If I can't get a SVO I am going to find me a 86-87 Sierra Cosworth instead. They are so dang expensive though.

Yep, that is the video. Excellent placement of the camera and sound.

I can only imagine what the local folks thought when they heard the echo through the mountains...

I used to supply some of the materials for the afterburner doors on the 16s.

Way cool. I wish I could be over there with my 86. I've done some time on the autobahn in the early 80's with a rented Alpha Romeo GTV. I could only get it to 205 kph but I know the horse would do so much more. I know what 5th gear is all about (the yellow area on the tach means "get ready to shift").

Nice to see such a nicely restored DPS car.

Thanks for the compliments! It was a lot of work and wouldn't be possible without my friends.

One of these days I hope to have a SVO to make as nice. I would love to have the same engine in my old Cobra. This carb'd 2.3 turbo is for the birds!!!!
