  • How do you test and adjust a VAM?

I have a large VAM and I'd like to know how you can test and adjust them if nessasry My car pulls hard if I milk the throttle to find the sweet spot but it drops off at WOT, the issue is the same with 15 psi boost but not as pronounced as with 23psi. Granted, my other car is a high 10 second 05 Vette, but it stills feels like this thing should have more in it...

I dont know if I'm going down the right path in investigating the VAM or not, but I'd still like to know more about about it, I did some searching but oddly didn't find much...

As far as the dropping off issue goes, I'm going to hook up my wideband today if I can get a bung put in, I hate sniffing the tail pipe, it's just not that accurate... I'm going try adjusting the fuel pressure up to see if it helps once I have a good A/F reading. Any other tips?

The car is an 84 with LA3, 3" DP, T-3/4, External Waste Gate, Big VAM, Stinger Header, Manual Boost Cockpit boost controller, Front Mount Intercooler, 255 lph Fuel Pump, 42 psi Fuel Pressure, 35# injectors, Timing set at 10 Degrees...

Start with a search. There's a test procedure posted.

Thanks for the test proceedure, I'll check it out.

I cranked the fuel up all the way to 60psi and it made a little difference but not much...
