  • Aftermarket Springs

I guess I looks like being a test mule or something, huh? But, I have been playing around with Fox platform mustang for sometime now

Here's my personal opinion on 'springs I've tried'. If you have some not listed or a difference of opinion - please - post a reply.

Stock - cut springs Not worth the time and effort it takes of removing the springs and firing up a torch. The only things it will accomplish is lowering the car and beating your kidneys to death.

Jamex Cheap. Cheap price....and cheap in the value of performance they deliver. Please don't take offense if you have Jamex springs - but these are no better than stock springs. Soft and don't seem to do much as performance goes.... but the price is cheap.

Eibach Pro Great spring if you intend on using the car for track use. I say that cause I've had these on a street car and they are VERY harsh on normal roads and driving conditions - you'll find bumps you can't even see. Lowers 2"

Eibach Sports Very well rounded spring. Lowers the car almost 2" - giving a lower center of gravity. The will be noticibly stiffer than your stock springs in normal driving conditions, but the ride quality is VERY acceptable. Works great on the track too - This is what I'm currently using on my 85 9L

Motorsport C springs Much like the Eibach Pros - they're great for car that will see use primarly on the TRACK. They are very stiff and ride quality is harsh on normal roads. Lowers car approx 1 1/2 -2"

Motorsport B springs Very acceptable street spring, but doesn't lower the car very much. If you're using larger (than stock) wheels - you might consider these. I didn't keep mine for very long cause i didn't see the very much change in ride height - but ride quality was very acceptable. Ryan Cloud is using these on his 86 2A - that has Bullit Wheels on it...and he gives a thumbs up for them on his set up.

I agree 100%, dont torch them at all nor cut them with the saw....the ride will be terrible compared to what 200 beans will get ya.

Right on the money, this is what i have stuffed in mine, and I will second te opinion 100%

These puppys really surprised the living sin outta me, great feel, great ride, great stance. If I were to do it again, these would be the ones I buy.

Just one mans opinion.....well 2 seeing as how im basically backing up what wa already said....Ok I'll leave now

            Nice Summary

I had the Eibach Pro...no good for me. The *** sat too low and the ride was too harch. I really like the Motorsport B. Nice stance...about an inch lower than stock and stiffer but acceptable ride (Cheap too-$150).

              springs

I just posted for the first time on this website with a question about springs. Then I found this thread. Apparently I have the Eibach pro springs in my car (how do you tell the difference?) If I would replace them with motorsports B springs would I have to get rid of the offset steering rack bushings or do the MS B springs sit low enough that you'd need the offset steering bushings? Do yoou know anybody with Eibach sports that want to swap for a set of Eibach pro's? if thats what mine are.
              Cheers,

for all the springs I've seen - the Pros were 'black' in color and the Sports were 'red'

As for keeping the offset rack bushings - You'd have to see how much your suspension has been altered afterwards.

                  Suspension Techniques

A previous owner installed suspesnion techniques springs on my 86 SVO. I had similar S.T. springs on my 93 5.0L GT and thought the performance was very good, but somewhat stiff for street. In my SVO however, the ride is very streetable (and combined with the adj Konis I could track the car easily.)

Kenny Browns springs for an SVO!!!

I had these installed just before going to Tennesse Reunion 2 years ago. I also had subframe connectors installed at the same time. (that's another post!)

These springs lowered the car 1 1/2"-2". (my knees were at the top of the fender when I got it back!)
The best thing is, it road almost exactly like it did with the stock springs, yet looked better and handled awsome! We drove down to Tennesse, and even my wife didn't notice a diference in ride.
About the only thing I noticed was it was a little choppier over cracks and bridge seams (is that what theyre called?)
They are specific rate in the front, and variable rate in back. I can't recall the spring rates. I think they're custom wound by Eibach to kennys spec's.
They were around 200 bucks (w/o installation)
With these springs, subs, and with 100,000 miles on every other piece of suspension (shocks, struts, bushings, etc...) and with no autocross experience ever, I placed 4th in the autocross at that reunion! I think out of 30-40 cars! (BMW's, vettes, and other SVO's)
So that speaks to the handling huh?
                    My opinion? Love em'!
If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

So where is the best place (price) to get Eibach sports or Ken Brown springs? From a Ford vendor or direct from manufacturer?
                      Cheers,

                        go to their websites

www.kennybrown.com or call them at 317-247-5320. They are good people, and I've had no complaints whatsoever about them.
