  • Earl's Brake Lines Part #'s

I had a couple people ask me about part #'s for the Earl's lines since I posted about them on another thread. Here are the part #'s according to this site http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/earls/s...14672c91c9753a I bought mine from Summit but this company's price seems good and free shipping. I have not bought anyhting from them however.
    1/84- 4/84 28B130ERL $100.16
    5/84-12/84 28B120ERL $95.95
    85 28B090ERL $99.18
    86 28B070ERL $95.95
I don't know what the differences are but I was impatient and took the set that Summit had in stock for an 86 and the fifth line was different than my 84. Hope this helps. What else is funny if you look up the 85 it also is the same as a couple of Mazdas.

You're right Vic. I messed up when reading my chicken scratch on a notepad. I fixed it.

Does this set include all 5 hoses or just the front two and center hose?

Thank you! I could not get an answer on the phone twice today with them.

That's the difference between dealing with summit , and one of our vendors. Call motion dynamics, I bet $5 he can tell you off the top of his head which set to use for a SVO. And SVP has custom (DOT APPROVED) braided lines.

I actually dealt with Paul at Motion Dynamics this week. The cost from Summit for the 5 piece kit is way under their kit cost.
I had planned on ordering from Motion or SVP but in this case the price difference was substantial enough to deal with Summit. However, I did spend a great deal of money with Motion (brakes, high flow intercooler, suspension pieces, etc with labor to come) and SVP (mats, gauge overlay, nameplates, shift boot, paint) anyway.

I think the might not have been justified in this case.

Paul is at SVP, and Jim is at Motion Dynamics BTW:
-- edit: UHOH -- Jim's new sales guy at motion is Paul also

nope -- it was justified... anytime I see someone deal with summit I use it. After the last time I dealt with them - I had an argument with the sales person that SVO's had V8's in them.

after that, I pretty much refuse to deal with them.

It's possible that Paul is out of stock on his braided brake lines, but I think the last time I talked to him, his were cheaper than summits. (and they are DOT approved, earl's are not)

Last time I talked to Paul at SVPU about brake lines they were ~$159. That's why I went to summit. I don't mind supporting our vendors, but there's a limit when it comes to $60 difference

Was that for the earl's lines, or SVP's new lines? he's only had the new lines for about a year.
I think the reason SVP made up the custom braided lines was because summit was selling the Earls cheaper than they could get them.

I think SVP has the custom lines in now.. but I could be wrong (I may be thinking of the ones he had for the lincolns)

I'm not trying get onto you guys -- I know most of you are using our vendors. I just like to make the point whenever I can. I don't think anyone expects you to buy everything from one of our vendors. know what I mean?

The part # 28B070 is specific for the svo and is the 5-line brake kit. You will have to call Summit and special order it as it is not in stock. Mine took about 2-3 weeks, but I wasn't in a hurry.
