    Check the FAQ...

I believe they are listed there for all years!

          A little slow today

Sorry for being a little slow today Eric. I have checked the faq and can only find one persons best guess at the color in PPG. I would like to be able to walk into the paint shop and say "mix me a quart of ..... paint here is the number" Just like I would say mix me a quart of 86 ford 2r, thats the code Iam looking for.

That is not going to be possible....

I have seen about 10 SVO's  with original paint.  Of those 10, 5 had different shades of charcoal.

Ford just wasn't real picky about the color they used  for the trim.

Your absolute best bet is to take something in to a paint shop, and say mix me a quart to match this.  They will be able to get as close as anything  we are going to be able to give you.

edit:: BTW::any paint shop should be able to cross reference that ppg #

Grey Trim Paint : The Answer!

I'm an original owner and had to repaint my trim recently. I used "SEM Urethane Bumper Coater" spray paint ( that is as it shows on the outside of the can. There is only grey or black for Fords. I purchased it at my local "Auto Color" paint supply store. They supply all the major independant body shops ( several stores around the Atlanta area ). I may have just been lucky but it was a perfect match to my original trim. Be sure to use a good self etching primer ( light coats ) and sand until smooth. I used the primer sold in the Eastwood catalog. It may take a few coats. Be sure to let it dry completely between coats ( I waited one day ). If you need any more info call me at : 770-345-0383 after 6:00 pm P.S. I took a First Place Gold Concours at a National MCA Show Memorial Day Weekend and an another first place at a local MCA Regional show this summer.

as recommended - always search the FAQs first. We spent some long hours trying to cover some of the most popular questions to make things easier on everyone. But, just in case you didn't find it...the gray trim paint code is... PPG #DDL 33717
