  • Chrome Plated SVO Wheels

    Greetings,

I was wondering if anyone on the board has any experience with Chrome Plating SVO wheels? I know the polished look is available and very nice, but after spending a few hours on a wheel, it seems evident to me that I won't be able to duplicate the chrome look.

Have any of you had your SVO wheels chromed, and if so, were you happy with the results? I'd love some references of recommended chrome plating shops that do quality work. And yes, I realize you get what you pay for.

Thanks in advance for your input.

one of our vendors does a polish/clear on SVO wheels -- it should hold up better than chrome.

                Chromed SVO wheels

Here is a picture of the Chromed wheels on our 7B SVO. In addition to the chrome, the cut-outs around the wheel are power coated WHITE.

The white cut-outs are hard to keep clean but looks good without the brake dust. However, cleaning is simple with "windex and a towel."

That is a beautiful car! I'm sure you've heard this before, but e-mail me if you ever think of selling her. I have plenty of garage space at the moment.

                          THESVOTRUST can't have them all

on edit: actually...I think he already does...lol

i cant stress this enough...take those rims to a shop that has a Hunter "plastic head" or "rim clamp" type machine. those machines wont damage the "lip" chrome and i would put on stick-on wieghts inside the holes.
