| Ryan Cloud first remembers
sitting in the very first SVO he ever saw. His Dad was car shopping at the
local Ford Dealership in the Birmingham, AL area. Ryan sat in the fully
articulated seat trying to convince his Father to buy this 1985 black SVO
(that had T-tops—but that’s another story). Dad mumbled something
about price and ended up buying a Crown Vic instead.
In 1990 - Ryan went to work for that same dealership
where he first saw a SVO. Skinner Ford in Birmingham, AL. and continues to
work there as a Drivability Tech. He also spotted a 86 2A, that year,
sitting on a Used Car lot. He approached a Salesman for the lot in an
effort to work out a trade for the SVO with his 68 Cougar. The Used Car
guys wanted too much money along with the Cougar - so Ryan walked from the
lot. But, he kept his eye on that Canyon Red SVO. |

1992, Ryan sees that very same SVO listed
in the local newspaper. Advertised, can you believe it, at the local GM
dealership that sits next door to Skinner Ford. It didn’t take long
before Ryan was driving home the (then) 38k mile SVO.
In 93 he discovered the thrill of Autocrossing. In
94, he attended his first Open Track event at the SVOctoberfest, ...and the modifications started from there….and they are… |

| Ryan and his wife, April live
just outside of Birmingham in the small town of Odenville with their 3
cats and one crazy Dog. Not too out of the ordinary, huh? How bout the
fact that two other SVO owners live on that same road in the middle of
nowhere Alabama!?!? His neighbors are Ty Burgin and now, the newly moved
Paul Becker. |
