  • WTB: Coil pack plastic cover

I have half of the cover. The rest was lost to time. Anyone have this cover from a parts car?

I assume this is for your '84? I probably have one available.

These are getting harder and harder to find. I have been looking for a nice '86 version (non-Canadian or California) for a while now.

Yes, for the 84. Can’t see the pics in your link, but the plastic cover that covers the coil and starter relay.

I had bought one for my 85.5 a couple of years ago from LMR, along with an emissions decal.
        85.5 1E in the house.

Daniel Carpenter does make a reproduction of the later style coil cover and Osborne makes a decal. While these two options will serve the purpose, they are not correct to the original style for the SVO's. I believe the reproduction coil cover is for '92 and up (MPN F2ZZ-14088). There is another version from '87 up to the DC version. One is on eBay right now engineering number E7ZB-14A088-AC. I think it looks closer to the original style than the repo part.

I actually spoke to Daniel at the SVO Reunion (Foxtoberfest) about the coil cover differences and need for the earlier version for our cars. While he is an SVO fan, he also knows the limited market.

It all comes down to what you are trying to achieve with your car. No right or wrong answer here.

Were you able to locate the one you mentioned earlier?

If you are looking for just a replacement and not that correct original, blue oval industries sells them. 1992 repro. There are around $35.

Yep, If you're not looking for NOS, repops abound on just about every vendor. Which are all made by Carpenter. You may even luck out at the boneyard. While I don't have to have one, I usually take a peek at any foxes for that or one of the plastic wiper motor covers.

Didn't realize that they are widely available from Daniel Carpenter. The 84 is a little different than the 85-86, but not concerned about it. Thanks for all the help!
