Well that's if you keep your foot out of it! I know the mountains have a strong pull on my foot. So let's see who can get the best and the worst mileage. Last trip I got almost 23 mpg, but Christine is running very strong now and I did do some adjustments on the boost that haven't been tested.

Reunion 2004
Hi Rick. I have all last year's receipts from the trip home with the 9L. On the best stretch it got 26.5 MPG and the worst was just below 24 MPG. The average for the whole trip was 25.4. I seem to remember SVO Eric busting into the 30MPG range last year on one of his trips. Eyelawdoc has an astounding number from an 84 SVO that had a fresh engine installed last year. He got 36 out of the car from Will. I don't know if that number was repeatable on a regular basis.

On my reunion trips I get 26-28mpg. My best ever was back in '97 on a trip to the Can-Am SVO show at 34mpg (~475 miles on 14 gallons). Must have been down-hill from Illinois through Michigan
We shall see what I get this year.

Numbers for this year's trip.
On a 590 mile stretch that included the Auto-X, the Tee Top got 24.82MPG. Most of that was sightseeing up the Natchez Trace at 45-55 MPH, a little stop-n-go driving in Nashville before on to Lexington and Richmond.
This stretch floored me. For 310 miles on the way back it used 11 gallons. Nearly 28.2 MPG. Much of this was at 60-75 MPH. I was idling in neutral on many downhill sections, though. I also didn't use the A/C on the way back.

Well my results are in:
22.35mpg headed south with an 60.8mph average
25.69mpg headed north with an 62.0mph average
I had more city traffic on my way down due to a poor route choice, with more highway on the way back. Not bad for a 246rwhp car.Ted

First of all, Paul Becker and I car pooled, and we got 24.5 mpg coming home and 24 going to the reunion. I think we need to email that kid that was bashing us for wasting gas and see what he got for mpg over the weekend. Most imporantly, I know he didn't have the fun that we did, and as the commerical says "priceless"!

The Road Warrior and my brother's 9L with 58K on the odometer both got 23 MPG @ ~70 MPH on the trip home.
On the way up when we were in a little bit of a hurry to get to the dyno, we got 22 MPG @ ~77 MPHMike S
