Tri-County Mustangs annual FORD car show is always held along the shoreline of Ventura County’s boat harbor, While the usual cold overcast morning was there, the sun eventually broke through to make the entire show a real winner. Lots of cars, vendors, people, giveaways and cash prizes. With 29 classes, 87 trophies were presented. Word was it was the largest ever. And the proceeds go to the Guide Dogs of America organization. Last year Tri-County Mustang presented a donation check to them for over $10,000 and they are anticipating even giving a larger donation.
This event also marks the end of another car show season. So this 1986 SVO will get a break from scheduled waxings of its well-worn OEM paint and an interior covered with towels (grandma style). Always gets odd looks on my weekly trips to Home Depot. The SVO writeups will then be able to focus on maintenance issues. Like a much-anticipated Westech dyno session testing injector performance, internal intercooler cleaning, MAF cleaning, benefits from changing ALL the fluids (including power steering) and oils.
Here are some event pictures.
