I have been an SVO geek since 84 when I test drove one I couldn't afford. I got my first one, an 84, in 88. I have never seen more than one at any one place, heck, I've only seen 4 total, drove 3 of them and bought 2 of them. It was great to meet everyone and their cars, I look forward to many more years with the club.

Here are a couple from inside the Mustang Museum of America. Can't thank Bob Powell enough for letting us set up inside out of the rain on Saturday! BTW, we were the first club to host an event at the museum since it opened earlier this year.

I can certainly remember those SSP Mustang squads from back in the day. Even though Illinois didn't have them, I always saw them when venturing over into Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan. Back in 1990, while driving from Jacksonville to Tallahassee to visit my cousin, I got nipped by a FL SSP on I-10...whopping 72 in a 55, DOH! The officer did a nice Dukes of Hazzard impression by slinging his SSP down and through the center median of I-10 at full throttle, coming out sideways on the pavement with full tire smoke, guess he thought my rental Dodge Shadow was a sporting a Shelby engine?!? Funny thing was, I had to sit in the passenger seat of his squad while he wrote up my ticket...it was a bit cramped in there with all the communication equipment...good times.

I had a Georgia State Patrol Headquarters about 100 yards from the entrance to the industrial park where I worked from 1974 to about 1994. I saw the GSP SSPs everyday, they also saw me in the 85.5 2R. I would get waves & nods from the officers as well. Never got pulled over. There was also the Cobb County Police Headquarters not far away up Highway 41 near the Marietta Square.

I always wanted to build a Cobb Police SSP clone. They were all 93s in solid white with gold lettering and tan interiors. Most had lightbars but a few were slick tops with plenty of antennas. I'd build a slick top.
