Vaccine passport?

They want proof of full vaccine to autocross with out masking up. I have an issue with vaccine mandates. Sounds like if you don't show you can still run but need to mask. I am not big on mask mandates either.

Where did you see a mention of the vaccine passport?

I just read through the Windy City BMW COVID-19 disclaimer form for the event and I don't see quite that level of requirements. Here is a link to the form:

The only mask requirement is, "...any time I am in the presence of others". Along with that the next line is, "I will maintain at least recognized minimum 6-foot social distancing at all times". To me, that would mean that you only need to wear a mask when you are 'near' others (i.e.- the check-in line, possibly corner working, etc), not while you are keeping socially distant or driving your car. All of us driving at the auto-x are supposed to sign said form and bring it to the check-in.

Now, Illinois does currently have a mask mandate, regardless of vaccination status, for all indoor locations, but nothing regarding outdoor spaces. You also do have to wear a mask in restaurants whenever you are not seated at a table or bar, but that is generally not very long.

The email they sent me had 3 links one of them spoke of a send us your vaccine card and you don't have to mask. They have been handing out wrist bands to identify vaccine status.

That said I am hoping they do that to cover their buts but don't enforce it on the grounds

Interesting, I never got any emails for the event except for the confirmation of registration from Motorsport Reg. My guess is that your suspicion is correct on where they offer up the vaccine card option to allow folks from having to wear masks if they don't want to (i.e.- legal CYA thing). I am hoping they won't be strict on enforcement, being that we will be outdoors and certainly not crowded together most of the time.

I found it interesting the misinformation that people have regarding the "vaccine"...at the autocross they gave out a purple wrist band if you show your proof of vaccination...then anounced that if you had a purple wrist band you could ride with others, if not you could not. Do these people not realize that even with the vaccine you can still get and transmit covid?!? It does not make you immune and that seems to be how they acted about it. SMH....All in all the mask deal wasn't enforced outside and everyone stayed safe and distanced.

Yep, that is the way things are rolling and especially as we get deeper into this whole mess. It is amazing how folks feel that the vaccine is a total 100% shield to the virus...which it ain't. It does lower the chance of contracting it and reduce the effects if you do contract it, but there is no vaccine that is 100% effective.

Even though Illinois and Cook county have mask mandates for 'inside spaces', not all businesses are enforcing it this go around as you guys experienced in the few places we went into.

I was very glad to see that the auto-x folks were not on high alert and used some common sense.
