  • Turbo water cooling lines

    Hey folks,
I just purchased a new Garrett GTX3071R turbo from Bo-port. My old Precision turbo was only oil cooled. This one is water cooled. Wanted to see what you know about the following.
    1. Where does the stock water return go? I have the stock line from the top water line that goes along the valve cover. So I know where that goes. But where it exits the turbo closer the fender and turns down. No idea where that one goes.
    2. Oil drain and water line part numbers or somewhere like Summit I can get maybe a kit for all of it? I have a Stinger header, downpipe etc. So if any of you have part numbers or kits you have used for a similar setup that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Going to amend my initial statement. Although I do have the stock line leading from the valve cover to the turbo it won't work because of the header. So I need a complete kit. And I need to know where to connect it to.

Have you talked to Stinger about this? I also have a GTX3071R and it is a little too big for my setup. I don't have a Stinger header that may help. If I had it to do over I would get a 28 series as mine takes too long to build boost. Does run nice and cool though!

There is a NPT port on the lower block that you will need to install a nipple fitting. The stock setup uses a 90* tube to connect between the center section and the block. A short piece of hose at the top and a short pieces at the bottom. They should be silcone based to withstand the heat of the turbo.

The return is the nipple just to the rear of the oil drain line.
