  • 84 exhaust tip fabrication

Could someone with the factory dual tip exhaust take a few close up pics and some measurements? My 84 has a single pipe on the drivers side and since no one makes them, I thought I’d try to make my own and get them plated.

Stinger used to sell them but I guess his manufacture went out of business. There is still a picture on his site that might help you.

Thanks, saw that. I’d rather make a copy of the original than a copy of a copy.

Someone, somewhere did fabricate one in the past.... IIRC they even did it a tad bigger and out of stainless. Once polished you couldn't even tell. Maybe someone on FEP? Damn, its been awhile....

I fabricated one out of Stainless Steel, using a template tip someone gave me at one of the Kentucky reunions, I built a complete stainless exhaust from the downpipe to the tip, with a catalytic conv, a piece of braided flex pipe, SS Borla muffler, and 2.5" SS tubing over the rear axle and then the fabricated exhaust tip with all the hangers and brackets also stainless each tip I believe are close to 2", I think it turned out really nice and should last forever.

I’m currently making the dual tip. Got the measurements from a friend of a friend and will have it chromed once finished. I gave up trying to find an existing tip.
