Actually, I am, too. But really need to move on to getting this project completed. Other jobs are piling up in the shop.

I have had to bend the upper door frames before to make the door sit just right

Not sure I'd want to try to tweak the plastic dash pad for fear it would just crack at a spot a passenger gets a full view of it.

So, yesterday, we got an email: "Do you still want this heater core?" Our reply: "Yes."

Last night, they cancelled the order!!! :-(

              • I looked and they don't even offer it anymore. I guess it was a good try.

Dam!! I guess I need to order a stack of the cheap aluminum ones to have in stock for the next time. :-(

That was the actual order of things:
                      'do you want it?'
                      Yes.
'we'll get back with an updated delivery date.'
                      <Cancelled order>.

Hopefully that can happen this weekend, depending on how many more 100+-degree temps we get this week.
Dam bypass hose is STILL leaking!!! I'm thinking it's the fact that it's one of the whiz-bang silicone hoses. I tightened the clamps AGAIN, and if that doesn't fix it, we'll revert to regular rubber. It's just a 90-deg elbow hose anyway. I should stop trying to be so fancy with this car.

With the silicone hose, you need to be using the sleeved, constant torque clamps.

I had some of those on other hoses, and they were cr@p, so I replaced them with the regular worm-screw type and have had no issues since. Got a source for GOOD heater hose-sized constant torque clamps? Thanks.

                            • Was out in the shop enjoying some of this cold weather while I organized the workbench a bit and cleared some space on it. I took a quick peak under the SVO, just to make sure that leak is fixed to find a nice BIG puddle of coolant under the front of the engine. That offing hose is STILL leaking!!!! I'm done with that crap! I've already sucked a gallon of the coolant out of the car, now to order that hose. I swear, the only rust on this car now is on the t-stat housing!!!

Might anyone have a P/N for the 90-deg hose that comes off the thermostat housing? The local parts house is showing a Motorcraftt KM640, but it shows having a 3/4" ID on one end and 5/8" at the other. Is that right???

Oh, and while checking my stash of hoses for a replacement, I discovered that the whiz-bang full-wrap hose clamps I got for it came from Pegasus. They simply don't work.

I've had good luck with Breeze brand clamps.
