I ordered the fan control unit from Forced4. I thought I was ordering the controller for the radiator fan to replace the TRW unit. When I got the part in the mail yesterday I looked at it and on top of it it said Cooling Fan-A/C Compressor Control Module. Is this the right or not? If it isnt what do I need? Thanks

Sorry, but my camera isnt working tried to post some pics of my car too. The guy who had the car before me said that the fan module had stopped working and he hadnt been able to find another one so he jerry rigged it with an after market thermostat and wired to the battery. That setup stopped working a couple weeks ago so I thought I would try to put it back the way its supposed to be. I pulled another fan out of a wreck with the harness bought a new motor and pigtail. Then ordered the fan control unit from Forced4 thinking that was a replacement for the TRW unit that everyone talks about going bad and causing the fan to stop working. I thought I had all the bases covered, but if I need something else please let me know. Thanks again

does the part you ordered from Forced4 look like the TRW under your dash? if so then it will work.
it may say something else on top, but it should be identical in shape and technology. Per his website it says you can install his part directly or just take the circuit board out and swap it into the TRW shell under the dash.

We sell that switch too. it is the little brass swich for water on our cars but other models it is used in the oil. Now that Forced4 is out of business, happen to know where I can get a new module now?Originally posted by dmdwp View PostI ordered the fan control unit from Forced4. I know I am a bit late, but here are pics of the fan temperature sensor as well as the fan control relay. The specific sensor for the fan control is on the rear of the lower intake manifold. I am showing the installed position and the connector that goes into it. The fan control relay is under the dash just left of the steering column and should be pretty obvious. The sensors are readily available from various sources in many different brands including Motorcraft. The fan control relay is going to be a bit more of a challenge, but they are out there.Originally posted by amassengale View Post
Got a pic of that? I'm trying to get my fan working again.

Forgot to mention, the temp sensor should trigger at 221 deg F and shut back off at 201 deg F per the shop manuals. I hate letting my car get up to those temps before triggering the fan, so I tapped into the one ground lead to the fan controller under the dash and switch it to ground to manually turn on my fan when I feel the need. YMMV.Ted

Thanks so much for the response. I've had this problem so many years, I was afraid the thread would be dead.Originally posted by svono50 View Post

I know the fan motor itself works.
I have already changed the temperature sensor, although mine looks a little different, thicker brass part. I have also changed the dash relay, trying 2 other used parts.
I see in the manual that there is a 20Ga, fuse link near the master cylinder for the electric fan timer control unit feed, and shift light control unit, whatever that is.
Could that be the problem? I am mostly electric illiterate.
