  • No thunder for Silver

Friday of Labor day weekend I left work and made a right turn out of lot, and Silver started coughing, popping and whatnot... Got ready to bail for the shoulder once I made it onto the main road. Made that RH turn and she smoothed out, Did my normal spirited drive home on the backroads, made 2 stops on the way. Got home and parked in driveway for weekend.

Sunday went to move er' and no start/run. Was cranking fine. Hmmm, didn't hear the fuel pump. had a friend come and push her back to the gate after I moved my 2010. Fiddled around and at the time it seemed FP took a dump. OK. Set up for pump replacement, etc. Good thing I, did as all the gaskets were shot (filler, vent, seal at body)

Replaced all said seals. Did more tests, and sender is fine (i initially thought it had died and caused the pump to fail) pump is fine too. Chased some wires and checked everyone out. Relay "was" working fine. Put it all back together Sunday. Wouldn't run for a damn. Barely running. Had fuel pressure etc.

Monday after work It wouldn't fire again.. I started going over stuff and cleaning grounds, checking relays. FP relay not kicking at all now, jumped at EEC test again and it pumps. NOW wont fire with the FP jumped. Tested for spark, its got lightning. Now to figure out why no thunder.... I feel it became 2 issues or it snowballed. I'm guessing the ground trigger from EEC took a dump like the original one did. Now to check the VAM....

    Thoughts??

I had an '84 that did that to me.... twice. BOTH times, when I got it home and off the wrecker, it started right up! Did a fuel pump the first time, but the second time I had no clue what the issue was. Started looking around and discovered that this SVO was enjoying the peeling wire insulation syndrome that so many '84's had. A repair distributor harness from Ford fixed that issue.

Yep, my old 84 had a bit of that issue. At first I was like did the tfi take a dump? No, has spark.....
