  • Worn out seat bushings - replacements??

My local Ford dealer said these are no longer available and also see nothing from the aftermarket suppliers. Does anyone make replacements? Tried a search here and FEP but came up empty.

We should measure the stock bush and get some sintered bronze replacements made. I'm sure it's something everyone needs.

Try going to www.mcmaster.com and searching bushing. They have some plastic flanged bushings but with the flange only on one side. Maybe a bushing and large plastic washer would work?

If green sales has them you;ll pay through the a*$ and they wear out again in no time. The bushes themselves are under a cover so you're better off going with something thats going to last, especially ifit can't be seen.

Are these what I probably need if the bottom part of my seat stays firmly in place, and the top/back part moves sideways?

I know this is an old thread but wondering if this is my seat issue. The driver's seat does not seem to have the adjustments as the passenger seat. The driver's seat does not want to latch upright, it will latch fine the further back I tilt it, but I have it in the furthest position upright it will go but it still leaned back quite a bit. Where exactly are these bushings located?

while doing my headliner yesterday I bumped my leg against the passenger seat and heard a rattle that I've been trying to track down for over a year. turns out it was this seat bushing that was trashed letting the seat bracket rattle against the bolt. thank goodness I found it, it was driving me nuts.

I noticed there was never any reply to this post so I did the measuring of my existing bolt, bushing, and seat bracket hole and came up with this part. I ordered four of them for me and a buddy. they are 91 cents each. the nylon/plastic ones are $7 each..I think the brass will do just fine and last longer.

all the measurements are in this link

hopefully will help someone else out looking for the same thing

btw...someone asked where these are located.. they fit just like the door lock bushings and are located on the inner bracket nearest the console for both seats. if you can wiggle your seat side to side and not move the bottom part then this is probably what you need.

                              came in, got them installed..

pic 1 = seat bolt, new and old bushing
pic 2 = new bushing on seat bolt
pic 3 = passenger side bolt/bushing next to console.

with this bushing the seat no longer shakes side to side or rattles however if you want it to recline forward and back with ease just open up the seat bracket hole just a hair or shave off 1/32" off the bushing.
