  • Reunion Road Trip

I don't want this to just be about me, everyone needs to chip in their "road trip" stories.

Day. 1, Dad and I got up early and packed the car and our gear. Pulled out of Oregon City at 10:30am and hit I-84E. Headed north and stopped in Spokane to have a look at a sad 86 2A we heard about. got some food and kept goin. Stopped for the night in Massoula, MT. 587 miles today. Today's average speed, 71.49 mph, MPG = 24.27

Heading for Dickinson, ND tomorrow and hope to meet up with Boardmaster in Billings, MT.

I was wondering if you're were gonna have a co-pilot for that epic journey. Did you get the VIN on the 2A in Spokane?

I can't remember if I got the vin from that one or not. Bob Tweedy gave me a heads up about this car a couple of months ago. IIRC, the owner will not part it out but he wants $1500 for it as is. I believe Fastest4d has the vin and some pictures that Fastmonkeywheels took and sent him.

So far, so good! Not bad MPG considering your average speed IMHO. Looks like we may have a ringer in the "longest drive" category, eh?

Day 2: Missoulla, MT to Dickinson, ND. Good trouble free day, car ran like a champ!! Stopped in Deer Lodge to visit the Montana Motor Museum. Everything from 1916 Model T's to a '71 Hemi Cuda AAR. Some really cool cars.

Thought I would try an experiment so I added a bottle of 104 Octane boost to a tank of fuel. MPG dropped by 6mpg!!! I am now using the second bottle i bought as a bi-wing support

todays stats. Mile travelled:678. Avg. Speed:77.02mph Avg. MPG:25.96, best MPG 28.74
