  • What were you doing while NOT at the Reunion?

Alright, I didn't get to go this year. My wife went back to work, my father-in-law died and I just didn't think it right to stick my wife with the kids for the long weekend again this year, (especially since her father used to come up and help her out while I was away).

Instead, I got to go pumpkin picking with my 3 year old's preschool class today, and I have a soccer game for the twins tomorrow morning, (if it doesn't rain again).

And Sunday will be another kid's birthday party, followed by finishing off the sheetrock for our semi-finished basement/new play area. (Perhaps the new hang-out for our little get-togethers).

You're a good dad, keep it up.
Raining here, plan to go to a local car show tomorrow, hang out. Will really plan to go to the reunion next year, I actually didn't know if I would still own my SVO this past year. Now that I am getting more into the SVO, planning to go. Sounding like a lot fun.

      Thanks!

I have always really enjoyed myself at each of the SVO Reunions I've attended. Wish I didn't have to miss them, but since I had the kids and because of the distance, it's not always do-able. Actually, that's how the Mini-Reunions started here 5 years ago.

I was trying (if I needed to be there) - As I was for your Mini ! (if it was only the OTHER weekend)

...or does that actually classify as a comment?

Well I am new to the SVO thing. But really sensing a loss for not attending the reunion. Time and distance would not permit me to attend. So I volunteered for some overtime at work so at least I can earn some extra money to pay off some of the parts I purchased. The last few hours I have spent looking at pictures of the reunion in another post. The sitting in the parking lot drinking looks pretty fun to me. So in honor of that I cracked open a beer myself. Tomorrow I will work a 10+ hour day. I will try to attend next year though. If anyone in my area wants to get together soon for a mini-reunion I would definetly attend that.

I've been having a blast at my own "One Man Reunion". I even had my own dyno day today. I'll be posting pics of my show and my auto-x results all weekend long. Stay tuned!!

                  Reunion

I too wanted to make it this year but family problems had came up at the wrong time.

Yup, another missed reunion... Ryan can`t afford to miss any college, so what does he decide to do? Ask permission to boot mom`s car out of the garage to install this monster front mount intercooler. And yes, his project turns into " our project " LOL.

I told him if we don`t get it finished in time, that were putting the car back together because he needs it for monday morning to go to college :P

Hey Roger, all my Griggs stuff should be here Wednesday, then it`s my turn!

I started a yard sale today. I walked on garage floor that I had not seen in YEARS. Tomorrow should be big as far as people showing up to disdain all of my collections of stuff over the years. Hopefully it will travel from my garage to theirs!

Something you might want to consider. I guess you have The Salvation Army or some other charitable donation center?

I just inventory and valuate all my stuff, load it in the truck / car, drive over and let them take it all in one shot. They usually even help unload it all. Done and done. Write it off on your taxes.

No hauling everything out and setting up. No sitting around wasting time just to haggle over a $1.50 on some item. Then no hauling whatever doesn't sell back into the house just to do it all again the next day... and the next weekend... etc. etc. etc.

VERY GOOD Ken - changes to the Irs code in Aug of 08 , require documentation (if ever audited) with prices (paid , devalued and donated value at the time - PHOTOS ARE SUGGESTED)

For years you could use $400.00 per year without sending a red flag. Today you have to be a wiz at comparing your risk exposure (via computer simulation) to what you DON'T want to claim !
