Aw man! If you wrecked one why would you even allow yourself to sit in the driver's seat of another?? Some one like me who has never driven an SVO but has looks at them as art, a beautiful creation from some great minds would gladly have paid no less than 10k for one. so if you did total you could have gotten your moneys worth without making yourself look like a bad driver. it makes me sad D:

I agree with everyone here about how sick it is to partout a good SVO purely for profit.

you will lose so much of the svo handling and other benifits of the 2.3t , you should just sell all of your svo and by anther 83+ gt mustang body an do it to one of those instead of an svo

If it was a decent car to start with I would completely understand, but if I'm going to take MY time and money to bring this car back to life against the advice of everybody who's seen it, I'll do whatever I want to with it.

MANY people here have saved cars that to most would be junk. While it is your perogative to do what you want with your property you cannot expect to come on to a site of SVO ENTHUSIASTS and get a warm and fuzzy response to what you have posted. Mike is correct in that the post he reference is abrasive and not one that will make any friends around here.

What I would suggest before things get ugly is to sit back and consider what I have just relayed to you. Perhaps if you posted information on the car or cars(not sure if you have one or three) along with the VIN's and offered them up to people here who have the desire to save an SVO that you could then go off and buy a donor car for your drivetrain that is likely in better shape and won't destroy a limited production car.

Many members here are not purists in the sense that they want the SVO's kept stock but the core feeling is that the car loses all of it's essence when put a V8 in it...If you ever drove an SVO then you would more than likely want it in the same configuration as it was intended. I own both V8 Mustangs and SVOs and the SVO offers something that you cannot get from a V8 Mustang....but only those who have driven them as they were intended understand that.

So before you continue to dig your hole consider where members here are coming from and why.....if you were on the other end you would feel the same way.

This is so funny, if I find that this isn't an ultra rare SVO, I will offer it for sell for a limited time period, very limited. If no one buys it for what I think it's worth then just wait and see what happens to it.

OK, it seems that my polite and nice attempt to get you to understand how your comments were being abrasive and why people reacted the way they did was either not read by you or ignored.

Now this statement once again is abrasive....threatening langauge like "just wait and see what happens to it" is only digging yourself deeper.

Fact is if you destroy the car by putting a V8 in it only makes yours worth less and those of us who retained the original design worth more so you aren't hurting anyone but yourself in the end. Enthusiasts want to see these cars kept alive but at the same time not butchered by installing a V8 which is something any redneck with a case of beer can do to a car.

Now that I've given you 2 more chances than any other director would likely have given you, I suggest you choose your next posting carefully and go back and comprehend what I have been trying to get across to you.

ok im sorry i came off a liitle cocked last night and i will edit my post . your offer to sell the svo for a limited time isnt fare to the car or people interested in buying it . i am personally in no finacial sittuation to take on another long term project i already have 2 or i would . one is my daily driver 85 ttop svo "very rare find " , the other is an early built 84 slapper bar car "also a rear find in the condition it is in", that was my daily driver till i got the ttop car going . both are great cars and would eat a v8 mustang in the corners , sounds meaner , looks meaner .just so you are aware of the rearity of your cars , there were 9837 svo mustangs produced for sale in the USA over there 3 year production run "3 years only" . the remainder of the production were export models "something like 23" . so you do the math on regular mustangs vs svo mustangs . for instance the lowest production year for a standard mustang was like 275,XXX give or take a few 10,000 . so even if you compaired the svo to the lowest produced year of standard mustangs , the svo is still a ultra rare car . sure parts are hard to find and can get exspensive , but there is nothing like a sence of acomplishment and the "seat of the pants " feel , when you have done the svo correctly

No need to apologize to GSP393....he is nothing more than a troll looking for attention and knew full well what kind of response he would get here.

how I realize this is a very old thread and one that could be debated on and on I had to chime in. I am very much a car and mustang enthusiast, if a person wants a typical v8 mustang than buy a v8 mustang but please don't ruin a real collectable and very ahead of time classic. I myself have a few cars, I have v8 mustangs and I have done my best to save svo's. I just 2 weeks ago purchased 2 svo's that were in a field two miles from the hard road, had to cross a creek and go about another mile and half. When I finally got to the field they were in I had to stand on my tailgate just to be able to see the roofs. As of now I have one on the road to work on and enjoy at the same time and I'm making room in the garage to restore the other. I've had a bunch of these cars that over half were laughed at til I was done with them. I guess what I'm trying to say is that thie ie a full example of how this community is about our (beloved car).
