Let's see....I bought a bike to save on fuel to do my part to help lessen useage and I have used it all but one day for the past month so I think if I want to drive a car to the Reunion then that is my right...what has HE done to conserve? probably nothing.

We have also donated to relief efforts but he didn't bother to ask that prior hitting "send" on the uninformed ignorant email he sent.....He just ASSumed that nobody here donated squat and that because we have hobby cars that we were "gross polluters" and just "wasting" fuel.....wrong ASSumption there buddy.

Try sending that email to some of the Ferrari clubs out there...SURELY they are HUGE offenders wasting TONS of gas and not giving ANYTHING to the cause

Amen to Eric's comment, Life goes on. Yes, its sad what happened. Hell, my wife was in a coma for 3 weeks two summers ago, life goes on. Today she is still here and healthier than ever due to another surgery!
What about all the energy that is used for the electricity that powers his computer, phones, dialup, etc? I have several power plants up here (along with the steel mills) and have worked inside a few. THEY are the biggest offenders of wasting energy I have ever seen! Hell, they're now getting around to putting exhaust scrubbers on one I worked at in 02-03 (putting catylitic converters on BIG cats!) so they can actually burn the coal/oil that we have with the high sulfur!

Yea, We drive 4 cyl. cars to a town to park them in a lot all day and stare at them. Then we move to another lot where we drive them 5-6 times for less than a minute each run.
I can't believe of all the car clubs and events, he came across ours to critisize.
Not the 4 Wheel jamboree that just took place this past weekend with a bunch of big 'ol redneck pickups and SUV's that probably average 3mpg. Or the powertour where thousands of musclecars an hotrods with big V-8's rumble thousands of miles across the country. or the Woodward Dream Cruise where the same types of cars sit at idle most of a whole week...

Hell, I wasted too much time even responding to this guy.

I sent him an e-mail questioning his motivation for sending the message. I also suggested he could have better spent his time actually going to one of the diaster areas and volunteering his time to help. I also recommended he seek professional help and possibly a prescription for a mood modifier...

There was a guy on the front page of the paper last week up here. It was a pic of folks leaving Texas and he had a nice newer Jeep all done up and outfitted. He was pushing it and his wife was steering, because he got like 8 mpg, and traffic was inching along... NOW thats really saving gas. Sweatin' you arse off on the highway. Betcha he had a few beers when he got to wherever the high ground was he was headin' to!
