What hotel is everyone staying in? I need to make my reservations soon and I wanted to know where everyone was going to stay. Is there a place to park a 4 car hauler trailer around the hotel area? If there isnt, then I am only going to bring my 84 car, if I have it done.

Maybee Paul at SVPU will be kind enough to carve out a spot to park it at his shop for the weekend.

                  not a bad idea...

but I dont trust the way my friends drive. I also dont want to insure all the cars just for one show. In Texas, insurance is expensive for me especially on all the SVO's since I am high risk.

Wow.....just re-looked the dates and it looks as though I won't be able to make it.....DAYUM! I was really looking forward to this one too! I'm pretty sure I'm going on "vacation" at the end of June for about 3 months. I'll see what I can work out......

My hunch is a 4 cylinder will not have the fastest time of the day.

oh ye of little faith --
the thread has rolled off now, but several svo's ran at 'lil taladega' a few months ago, there were some pretty hot cars there, SVO's finished top 3.

My hunch, a street legal car will not have the fastest time of the day. How bout we compare apples to apples? Most of the SVOs that are attending are not purpose built racecars, or have you not been to one of these events before?

I have not been to one of the reunions. I was more or less being an instigator. What means purpose built race car? Tube chassis? Body in white built race car? How about a car that was purchased from a car lot and enjoyed the first 10 years of it's life on the road then converted?

I am thinking about attending this year as I have kicked it around for a few years. I would most likely bring a mostly stock SVO. The track looks like it would be a lot of fun.

Body in white? That's only a more recent item that Ford has offered. A purpose built car is just that - a RACECAR - Not street legal by any stretch of the imagination. If you have no idea what I meant by the term, "purpose built racecar" - then you got in a conversation WAY over you head. This year's Reunion is being held in conjunction with the Mustang Club of America's anniv event. People from all across the country will bring their Mustangs to show off and run on the track - many of which are professionally built RACECARS. Saleens, Steedas, BUd Moore TransAm, Tommy Kendall's old Roush built TransAm, IMSA cars ... that sort of thing. Trying to compare a SVO - no matter how "built" it may be to something like what's pictured below is NO comparison. I personally enjoy watching the vinatge racers go at it ... and um .. they're faster than SVOs too.

Turns out tho ... there will be speed limits imposed on all race groups. Guess we'll never know who'll be deemed the fastest.
