Mine is a Washington state car. The original owner bought it in Tacoma. They ordered it this way to keep the cost down. Sadly, they added a dealer installed sunroof and a radio. Removing the radio was a snap, fixing the hole in the roof is another problem.
Lucky for me it was well done and does not leak, it is the only non-orginal thing done to the car.
Since my Iraqi adventure is complete, I am taking it out for a drive now and again. It really does run well in cooler more humid fall weather.
I need to start thinking about tires as the current set is getting old. Any ideas? I would rather have more sticky and less treadwear since I do not drive more than about 1200 miles a year.
I also was digging in my car stuff and found an SVO steering wheel with center pad. I bought it from a guy south of Seattle for a hundred bucks about five years ago. It was hanging on the wall of his shop.

I received an interesting email from a guy who doesnt frequent our forum the other day. He stated he bought the car from our Classifieds a couple years ago - but wasnt totally sure it was a Comp Prep. I reviewed his door data info and it's for sure a CP. He sent me a pic and I put it in the Registry. He had added it earlier this year, but listed it as unknown on being a CP. So, it was a first time entry as a CP - and with a pic.
For you guys who follow the CP cars, here's the VIN of this 85 1/2 CP - 2FF231041. Located in south georgia.

I may have one for the registry here in Indiana as well. An 85 med. can. red. My buddy who works at a large ford dealer up north called and asked if an svo had crank windows if that made it a comp prep. I told I thought that yes it did. He said the car has a radio but could have been put in at a later date.
He believes the people don't know what they have and is going some more digging today. We'll see.

On 85s and 86s ... the door data info (or build sheet) is how you can verify it. The Radio code "R" should have a "Y" under it. Spring codes are another way - but I just woke up and getting old - long term membory isnt working right now.Originally posted by ryans89notch View Post

Nothing yet. The car is for sale for $7900 and the vin was requested. Is this $ amount right for a clean example?Originally posted by ryans89notch View PostI may have one for the registry here in Indiana as well. An 85 med. can. red. Obviously the condition will dictate the price, not just that it is a Comp Prep. That being said, the 85' CP is more rare than the 86', number wise. In the past year, the low mile examples have gone over $13K. Then you have the average cars going in the mid $6K range.

For the endurance events, some in the rain, the cloth seats soaked up more water than the leather seats.Originally posted by RTStabler51 View PostIn my office thinking...
Why is it that CP's didn't have AC, no radios, and the other creature comforts deleted....but you could get leather seats in them??Kendal Coker
