How do I identify and 85.5 as real?

Checking the vin# (Digit 10) Model Year 1985 = "F" 1986 = "G" from our vin decoding page (SVO Club of America - Mustang VIN Decoder (svoca.com)). Third brake light in spoiler on the 86. SVO badge on front fenders on the 86.86' SVO 1C # 17 of 3379 86's #6475 of 9837

VIN is the best way to confirm. Visually, I know parts can be changed, but a 3rd brake light will distinguish an 86 from an 85.5. There is plenty of debate as to whether the 85.5's got the SVO badge on the front fenders. I believe all else visually is identical between those models.Ted
