  • Pink's '85 1b

So, here are a couple updated pics of my '85 1B. I picked this car up this past July from a fellow SVOCA member in West Milford, NJ. The car has approx 120,XXX miles on it. Overall it's in good shape and runs WELL....I'm getting abut 25mpg. It's a daily driver and I put about 100 miles on it each day, Mon-Fri.

I've worked on the interior adding a Sparco steering wheel, FRP leather shift boot & knob, Corbeau seats, NICE fuzzy dash trim and a center console w/ the correct switches. When I got the car, the center console was incorrect.

Plans for the interior include better sunvisors and I'll probably re-do the head liner in the spring. I'll also be replacing the factory gauges with Stewart Warner probably over the winter. And I'm awaiting a leather e-brake handle from Mr Tweedy.

I've also redone part of the rear suspension with new MM lower control arms, Steeda Upper arms, new rubber axle bushings, Energy Suspension spring isolators, Moser axles, and MM Subframe connectors.

The only exterior project was adding Amber Marchals.

I'm still debating on the body, I don't want to put A LOT of $$$ since it is a driver.

Those Corbeaus look very similar to stock SVO seats. Did you have to special order that material? How do they compare to your old Recaros?
My wife says it's a sickness...what do you think?

Rog - no special ordering. I got these seats used. They feel a lot like those Recaros I got off ya.

              Wiring update

Well, I managed to make some progress on getting the gauges wired up. I still need to get into the car and make those harnesses. I've used Weatherpack connectors to make the harnesses.

You'll also notice that the heat shrink label maker has come in handy.

There is also a pic showing how it SHOULD look once in the car....my goal here was to mount the side gauges behind the stock fuzzy dash trim.

That is nice J. I remember a while back (might have been in CHAT) that you mentioned that heat shrink label maker. What I don't remember is how much it set you back.

                  Got em installed

Well, got the gauges installed and wired up. I still need to calibrate the speedo. The oil pressure gauge is maxing out....gotta run that one down....

Cause sometimes I've got too much time

Decided to spruce up the FMS Valve Cover I've had laying around. Don't know if it will ever make it on the car.....
