Indeed!! Anyone who thinks painters get too much, haven't spent any time blocking down a car getting ready for paint, OR color-sanding after paint!!

Nice work, so far, there, though!!

I was able to remove all the paint from the rear hatch and air scoop. I used the Eastwood Epoxy primer spray can on the scoop. Not too impressed with the spray can. I did use the roller on the hatch. Next is to tape off car and do the front fenders one at a time. Heat and humidity is killer right now in FL. I may put rest of the car off till cooler temps in October.

It was a little cooler this morning. So I decided to replace the cracked seam sealer in the rear hatch area. I also installed cardboard across the front windshield and open areas on the sides where I removed the door glass and 1/4 glass. Not sure if I am going to start on paint removal on the front fenders or not. I leave on a 6 week vacation starting 9/1/2025. Time will tell. Still very hot and humid here in FL.

Well it has been awhile since I worked on my SVO. I was on vacation in Maine for 6 weeks and had some other things crop up. I was finally able to get some work time in. I decided to remove the front fenders and doors to remove the paint down to the bare steel. A bit easier on a work table vs bending over at my age, LOL. I wired brushed uncovered areas and painted them with rust stop and truck bed liner. Will start work on the fenders tomorrow.

Good to see you getting back to it. Yeah, since you have all the other stuff off, that's just a small step pulling the fenders, comparatively. Gonna look great when you're done.

I should also have a very small update this weekend, too. Parts have finally arrived, and my co-driver is back in the country to assist. :-)

I got the driver's fender down to metal. Then put 2 coats of Opti-Flow epoxy primer from Eastwood. doors are off now. Weather is going to turn this week so I may have to wait till next week for other fender. December is super busy for us, not sure how much work I will get in. All part of the holidays.

It has been sometime since I worked on the SVO. Holidays and weather has made me hold off. I had a good weather day today. First I removed the door handle and key lock on the drivers door. Then got door to bare metal and shot 2 coats of epoxy primer. Hope to do Passenger door tomorrow.

Good to see you are back on the project, now that you have some 'spare time' again.

`I was hoping to get moving along on getting all my body parts down to bare metal and primed. However a good friend of mine had a fellow who was diagnosed with terminal cancer and had basically a few months left. He inherited a 23T-Bucket from his dad 4 years ago and put a ton of money in it at my buddy Chris's hot rod shop. I was asked to wire it up 4 years ago and did that but I warned those involved that the FAST system they bought to run the Inglese Fuel injection would not work with the zoomie headers. One thing I have learned over the last 20 or so years is, you can only offer advice not make anyone take it, LOL. Well after 4 years and the owner taking it to several tuners and such, Chris came to me and asked if I could make it run for the owner who is on borrowed time. I could not say no. After the owner went to Inglese they offered to sell at cost the Holley Terminator system to him for the T-Bucket. I had to remove all the FAST equipment as well as wiring harness. The Holley harness was too short for this setup as the modules are all under the seat. So extending all the sensor wires, replace the entire ignition system and rewire the incorrectly wired Holley injector harness and ignition harness to the MSD distributer. We got it running. All this took about a week. This last week I did strip the passenger door and primed it for my SVO. Here is photo of door and short video of the running T-Bucket. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRPsrv2uRzo

My game plan was to tape off the openings and start to remove the paint on the body to bare metal. Unfortunately The wind and the Live Oak trees leaves falling put the end to that Idea. I was able to get the cowl area down to metal and prime it inside. Not sure when spring down here will allow me back to work on this. I may have to put it off till June as we have a bunch of camping trips planned for April thru May.

Ours seem to drop their leaves in a couple of days. We have 6 on our property. Unfortunately, immediately after dropping their leaves, they start blooming, so everything is covered in a yellow-green hue for a couple of more weeks. Then, about the time you think you're in the clear, the cottonwoods start their thing. Luckily, most of the 'cotton' from them ends up in my neighbor's pool.
