  • New SVO owner

Just bought an 84 that needs quit a bit of work. Motor runs but not well. Guy has put a lot of new stuff on the car. Question is where do I get a good service manual? I am clueless about the motor and need a good service manual so I can start troubleshooting the issue.

Welcome. Most of the manuals can be found on eBay.

      Are they SVO specific?

Welcome to the forum! Please share some pictures of your new project.

As Chris posted, try eBay for a set of the original Ford shop manuals. There is actually a supplement for the '84 manuals that covers some of the new SVO features.

Some of your questions might be easily answered by searching the forum. While activity on the site is not what it once was, there is also a club Facebook page if you can't find what your looking for on this site.

And I am glad that your willing to take it on!

Parts are out there, while some of the SVO specific stuff can get a little pricey, don't hesitate to reach out for any needs.

Thank you, I’m definitely no stranger to the restoration game but I am to the SVO world! Here is a picture of my (this may be a dirty word around here!) 73 camaro that I restored IMG_0175.jpeg IMG_1122.jpeg

NICE! No dirty word here. We own several different makes and models. Our race car is a 85-ish Firebird, and another vehicle in our collection is a 92 B4C 1LE Camaro RS.

Welcome Sanders. You certainly have a project on your hands, but it at least looks like a reasonable carcass to start with. If your Camaro (very nice BTW!) is any indication, that SVO will be quite a specimen when you get done with it. Looking forward to your progress.
