SVO and IMSA Racing Capri

Hello, While I am not an SVO Mustang owner I am a long time Ford Motorsports fan. I was fortunate to recently acquire the 1982 Capri that Lyn ST James raced in the 82' Kelly Challenge IMSA series. While no one disputes the cars history and it was in fact raced by Lyn ST James, little is known or documented about the cars origination and build. What I know or understand about Ford SVO is that all motorsports programs fell under is management. I would love to hear from anyone that had a connection with SVO or documents that could shed some light on the Capri, even if its just hearsay.


As a side note. In 1983 I was fortunate to get to go to SAAC 8 in Dearborn MI with my dad and a bunch of his Shelby friends. One of the cars in our caravan from the Westcoast was a new SVO Mustang. Thinking about it now, that must have been one of the fist sold. As an 18 year old, this was the trip of a lifetime!

Since it's in 82 that makes it under Motorcraft. There are quite a few Capri Groups / Pages on FaceBook. I sold my extremely rare 86 Capri in 4E Sage Green last year to a good friend. Wish I could have kept it. Only 12 were built and this is the last one left.
