Rear brakes - difficulty?

I did a search, but have a quick question. Is there any degree of difficulty replacing rear brake pads with the parking brake configuration? I am a fair mechanic, but heard this might be tricky.

not tricky at all...
the parking brake cable is just held on with a clip.

now, sometimes the pistons are stuck, and you can't "screw" them back into the caliper to replace the pads, but this is not related to the parking brake.

Just take the proper tool to the piston on the rear caliper, screw in the piston, replace the pads, and you're good to go.

Pulled the tire off and here is what I see, it's not a full pad, but looks ok for now, I only drive it on weekends.

dunno, that's getting fairly close to the rivits...
if you're just on weekends, it might wait til next year.

yeah, last set of rears I had on, hit the rivits about ten-thou before the noise makers hit...

Unless the flash of the camera is the culprit it would seem your rotor is glazed, if your minimum thickness is good a turning may be worth it.
