Master Cylinder Rebuild Kit

I need the part number for the Ford brake master cylinder rebuild kit for an 86' SVO Mustang. I do not prefer most of the auto parts stores, as most of the people that work there have no idea what an SVO Mustang is. I'm just tired of having to paint them a picture. So, I'm hoping that I can track it down online when I get the part number.

I've already tried that part number on some of the online stores, and nothing comes up. I figured that the number had been superseded by another number. Can anybody recommend a reputable online OEM service parts store?

You might just look for a new Master Cylinder. They are out there, made by companies such as Bendix for Ford.

I saw an ad in the back of a Ford mag of a company who specializes in rebuilding masters. I'm not home right now but when I get home I'll post the info.

Are there any good online stores that sell service replacement parts like these? Several of the ones I've tried only seem to carry the usual garden variety Cobra R parts, chrome valve covers or Motorsports hats.

My local Ford dealers are no help either. With the SVO, I feel like I'm on the outside looking in all the time. I like the car and all, but gee whizz!!

They say that they do master rebuilds for restoration projects with a usual 48 hr. turnaround time. I have never used them or know anybody that has, just passing on the info. Also if you don't care if you have an aluminum or steel, you can get a new steel Fenco from Autozone for $52 or steel Bendix from Parts America for $89.

I think that Advanced Auto or in Texas, I think it is Checker will have the rebuild kit under the part number: Raybestos MK1617. Give that a try. You could always check with NAPA #UBP1617.

I can get genuine Bendix master cylinders new & rebuilt. I can also get front & rear calipers,pads,rotors,boosters, and front and rear brake hoses. I will give details hopefully within the next week.
