Does anyone know the Eibach sportline part number for a 1986 SVO. I want to get a set but would rather tell Tire Rack the part number directly.
    Thanks in advance.

They're the same as all 79-93 Mustang applications. Try looking in the Product Review section under "Aftermarket Springs" for some other options. I personally recommend the Eibach Sports (red in color).

What concerns me is I don't want to get a V8 set and have the lowering springs do the opposite and raise the front end.

well....guess you might listen to people's experiences. Or, look at a picture. This is my 85 9L with Eibach Sports. The springs are NOT a SVO specific application, but rather one that fits ALL 79-93 FOX Platform Mustangs.

Thanks. Does it really lower the car 2" or is that an average??

seems to be a standard result... 1 1/2 to 2"

Is any trimming of bumpstops required?

Does anyone have the Eibach part number so I know I'm getting the right part for my car. It would be easier to call a place and have the correct number handy when ordering.

                Thanks,

Actually Bud..... Eibach did, indeed, make an SVO specific spring for a time. I know this because I ordered two sets of springs for my SVO's. One of the sets was black and the other was red. I installed the black ones onto the 84 SVO and the reds onto the 85. The black set absolutely "slammed" the 84, while the reds left the 85 sitting like the one in your picture. When I called to inquire about the difference, I was told that the black springs were originally designed for the SVO but had been discontinued and that that was the last set they had. The reds were substituted for use on the SVO and are higher rate than the blacks, thus the difference in ride height.

I wish I had kept the reds to put on the 84 when I sold the (other)85. The 84 rides so low that I actually put a spacer in the front coils to bring it back up a bit. (Yeah, I know, had to buy a lift kit for my lowered car

yeah - I remember those ..but it's awhile now since they 'made' them. I had a set of them ...and whoever thought they were "svo specific" was more than likely a crackhead engineer with a degree from the scoobie-doo tech school. I put them on the first 86 I owned...and quite promptly busted both front struts. Not a street spring by any means.

I found Tire Rack has the 79-02 Mustang V8 Sportline springs listed for $160. Is this about right???

yup - that's a good price. I think I paid 2 bills for mine a few years back.

                            Sportlines for a V8 then?

Ok, so basically you guys are saying that the sportlines (redish/pinkish) that are for a 79 to present, non IRS or vert, are the same for svos? I know they'll fit but will it really lower the car? They are springs for a V8 but i guess since they are higher rate then will they stiffen too much or i dunno.

BTW, the part number on the coil sportlines kit im talking about is #4.1035 and it says is for Mustang V8s from 79-93 including Cobra/excluding vertible, 94-present V8s including non IRS Cobra/excluding verts, and Capri V8s 79-86.

What im basically asking is, will these fit on stock suspension on SVOs even though they are for V8s and how will it really lower the car, im not looking for too much (pro-kits?) but slightly?

They had eibachs that were "SVO and 6 cylinder specific" If you check there website they still might if you look under Pro-Kit.
