You are replacing everything on this svo. You can rebuild them for a small price. just some O'rings and a rubber boot like thing. Its been a while since I did one.
Time to clean up the engine bay!

They use metric fittings and have a slightly smaller bore size (1 1/16" vs 1 1/8" for the SVO). You might get a slightly firmer pedal with the newer master cylinder but it should work.

Thanks for the plug Eric, but we don't have any of the NOS units left. Sometimes you see them on Gay-Bay, and it seems like the wind has come out of them dollar wise and you can get a good deal. We might have a few alum rebuilts around. You have to be careful since many of the rebuilders will substitute a big bore cast iron one instead and call it correct. Not that it matters but there is some weight there and the car loses some of it's cache (how's that for a word??) with a boat anchor master cylinder IMHO.

I still think you should rebuild yours too. Pretty cheap and easy!

                MC Rebuild Kits

Kragen has the rebuild kits. It's online order only though. They don't stock them in the regular stores. They are around $20.

Raybestos MK1617 is the part number.

I have been quite successful at rebuilding the ones in the fleet.

Is there usually any honing of the bore required? What comes in the kit? How about a new cap or just the rubber gasket underneath maybe?

Ken, we have the Raybestos MK1617, Cost $22.00 Plus S&H, which could probably go postal since it's small. Other guys are mail order only like Eyelawdoc indicated but according to their website, it's $37.99. Kragens, Parts America, Schucks= all the same

                    Kragen's

NOTE: I do see that Rock Auto is $18 for that same part. Ahh, to do their volume..sigh.... I dunno what Kragen's is thinking at $37?

$37 at Kragen, wow! Last one I bought from them in June it was $20! I'd say Paul is the place to buy them at now!
