  • Front Sway bar

Is the front sway bar 1.12" in diameter or 1.2". I read the great info in the frequently asked questions section, but I read a mustang performance book that stated that SVO's had a 1.2" diameter sway bar, and that the sway bar was 2" longer than other mustangs.

Before I could finish typing this message, I noted that my bar is 1.2". Any thoughts?

According to Maximum Motorsport's site, the SVO swaybar is 1 1/4" in diameter.

I believe the stock SVO sway bar is 30mm or 1.1811 inches. I believe this has ben discussed before. You might try searching.

        Thanks.

The reason I bought this up was because in the FAQ section, the sway bar is listed as being 1.12, which I belive is incorrect.

the info on the faq sheet is from the promotional material on the SVO -- it would not supprise me if it had a typo in it.

I think we had discussed changing it before, and decided against it.

I miked mine out some time ago for new bushings from Energy Suspension. They were 30mm. The bushings fit well.

That is correct. Paint added .040" to the diameter. Too bad they didn't powdercoat. Powdercoat only adds .002" and the bar would be lighter. (That's my Mike Fleming imitation for the day!)
