Yeah I understand I have to drive it! The boost used to work untill I messed with the timing belt (I was trying to take off the plastic part that has the pointer on it to install on my red car). But I put it back on and figured since it started it was going to work! I'll try that and check timing tonight and keep yall updated!

#1 check the timing, with a timing light.
disconnect your yellow wire, set the timing to 10*
plug your yellow wire back in, check the timing -- it should be between 20*-30* advance

#3 check the cam timing... Remember, cam timing and ignition timing are different. cam timing should be at 0. pop that plug out of the cover, put the engine on TDC, and see where it is (hopefully with the pointer that might be there)

unplug the hose that goes to the waste gate actuator. YOU NOW HAVE UNLIMITED BOOST!
this is not really a good thing... BE VERY CAREFUL HERE.
take it out, run it up, and you should see boost peg very quickly... do not hold the gas pedal down once the needle jumps above 10 psi, or you will be asking for tech help on a head gasket replacment.
it's best to ease into the gas pedal, don't jab it down, and hold it, the boost will build too quickly to release.

Edit Added note, You do know you can't build boost sitting still. you have to have load on the engine before it will build boost, this means driving the car.

ahhhh-- here we go, that would have been good info to know right off...
when a new problem develops, always go back to the last thing you worked on.

Cam timing should be at 0 -- there is a sticky at the top of the engine forum, that has pics, and help on getting it right, and what it should look like.

so i looked at the pics in the sticky, and understand how to set everything except for the crank pully. i was always told to just turn the crank untill the number 1 piston was at the top . how do i remove the crank pull to line it up?

            nevermind...
edit..actually I don't think this will work if you only turn the crank...

you don't need to remov ethe crank pulley to check it. the crank pulley has a notch on it for #1, line that up with the 0 on the timing belt cover

ok so I set all of the timing and its still doing the same thing even with the mannuel boost controller! It really doesn't have any power but I can clearly hear the turbo spool

interesting..I guess that's like putting a bannana in the tailpipe effect. turbo won't function if the exhaust gases can't escape. makes sense. glad it's fixed

SEEEEEEEEE.......... what did i tell ya...........
                              Glad you got it fixed.

WHen my cat clogged (overly rich tune) i had one of those 4" bullet style cats.......... well in the middle was a 3.5" plug (melted material inside).

I couldn't figure out why my boost was dropping and even if i raised it it didn't do anything. needless to say when i got it uncorked.........it was alive.......it was ALIVE!!!!!!!!
