  • Correct drier/accumulator for SVO

Many said they couldn't find one or the right one...here is the correct OEM style one for our cars. I know this because we just installed it on a friends SVO today and charged the system with Freeze12.. WAY cold...

    Ready-Aire Accumulator
    Part Number: 4221
Available at Advanced Auto Parts... says $85, but if you can get it cheaper elsewhere.

Just FYI for those that had trouble finding this part.

The accumulator is hard to find NOS. You might find something that will work - however, you might have to buy new hoses as well.

The 1984 forsure, maybe 85, were different than the 1986 type. The earlier models had one of the A/C hoses attached to the accumulator.

It will be here tomorrow..I'll snap some for everyone. The SVO one seems to be the only one with the top mount, twelve o'clock, high pressure line which is why it's so hard to find.

just arrived... as promised...picture is of old OEM one on the left and new one with part number in the first post. fittings match up, size matches up. Only little change is the location of the shrader valve is a little further over, that's it.

Well it looks like you found a 1986 NOS one. It's got a Ford tag on it. Congrats. Document the Ford part # also.

                  4221 Accumulator

Anyone else having trouble finding an accumulator for your SVO? I've stopped by Autozone, Advance, and an Auto Value parts store nearby, and done as much looking on the internet as I can, but all I can come up with is the accumulator with the barbed fitting. I need one with the 5/8" springlock fitting, right?

No one can get that Ready-Aire #4221 accumulator that I can find.

Make -- Interchange Part -- Proliance Part
                    AC Delco -- 15-10267 -- 4221
                    AC Delco -- 15-10269 -- 4221
                    Motorcraft -- YF1192 -- 4221
                    SCS Frigette -- 207-517 -- 4221
                    Visteon -- 500222 -- 4221
                    Visteon -- 500225 -- 4221

                    great..doesn't hold the formatting..

also give acpartsguys on ebay a call.. buddy got new compressor, clutch, everything from there..I got my compressor there as well.

I've seen that more than a few times. I've seen turn signal stalks in GP Sorensen boxes and they have MC part numbers on them.

I don't think that's the right one Navy..the part number isn't even in the interchange list for the SVO and the angle of that connector looks wrong to me...
