  • Oil pressure sender ?

Does it hurt anything to have the oil pressure sender flipped up side down? I ask this because my new oil feed line fits best with it flipped. Please have a look at the pics below and tell me what you think....

You may not like it routed that way when you go to install your EGR.
The BATFE should be a convenience store.

The only thing that would scare me about that is how tall that brass piece comes off the turbo. I know the idea of it, to get the hose farther away from the heat, but the problem is, it will be really easy to break. and brass being fairly soft will break pretty easy. sticking up so high, the first time you try to change plugs, it's going to go SNAP!

Those exhaust manifold bolts don't look right either, but it may just be the angle.

the location of the sender won't hurt, seeing as how mine hits my egr tube already.... but don't forget an intercooler goes on top of there as well.. right where you have that oil line and brass fitting. Unless you're diong a front mount that IC is going to sit right on the oil line and brass fitting..that fitting looks very tall to me.

that's true Brian, I assumed a FMIC. If using a stock intercooler, that would certainly be a unhealthy angle on that oil-line.

Personally, I would not point the sender downward. The oil sensors are very fickle to begin with. I suggest if you can do a 180 on the fitting - do it.

I don't understand the need for the standoff on the turbo side. IF you're concerned with heats impact on the line, wrap it in:

DEI specializes in heat and sound insulation products. This includes heat wrap for headers or exhaust systems, heat shields, sleeve products, & more.

Or, the cheap alternative is aluminum foil.

The sender clears everything even the egr tube. We just want to make sure it will work flipped up side down. The fitting coming out of the turbo is only 1.5-2 inches tall when its all locked down with an inch of clearance to the intercooler. We wanted a simple 45 but no one had one. The fact that it might shake itself lose or snap is making us rethink it. In retrospect, I should have just bought the stock line. More pics to come....

What is the connection on the turbo feed line, JIC? Parker makes long ells in steel that would be a better choice than brass. Find a Parker fittings retailer and take your hose with you.

I once tried to flipped it upside down, and oil was leaking a little bit from it.. I wouldn't do that if I was you.. but its only my 2¢

Good advice Chris. Check out MSC for fittings, they have steel and SS Parker fittings. We use them at work all the time. Here is MSC's link: http://www1.mscdirect.com/cgi/nnsrhm

Ok we tried the 45 and it was a no go. So we took the extention and cut it in half and rethreaded it. Now its sweet! A little bit of saftey wire and we should be good to go. Once we get the intake on I will post pics for everyone. I think this is the best routing for the Motion Dynamics line.

Ok I know I am way late on this, but here are the pics on the end result of the oil feed line. We also put some rubber hose on the water pipe closest to the sender.....
