Do we use the same hard fuel lines as the 86-93 5.0's?

Hard fuel lines

I would guess no since they have a different path once they get to the engine bay. 5.0's come out on the passenger side and the SVO's come out on the drivers side, plus I only know of the fuel rail that is hard fuel line on the SVO, the rest on mine at least are rubber or black hard plastic..that I have seen..all the way to the fuel rail.

The hard steel lines run down the driveshaft tunnel, then cut over to the passenger side, and up behind the fender. Nylon lines then run from those hard lines along the firewall and over to the driver's side. You can get replacement hard lines from Year One, but they don't have a listing for an SVO. I'd like to eventually run braided lines and AN fittings, but not until I'm making some serious power. Boport still ran stock lines on his 513 rwhp car.86 SVO, 69 AMX, 91 SHO, 91 Bronco

1fastII,
You are correct about the 86, and possibly the 85.5 - don't own an 85.5 so don't know, SVO's using metal hardlines for fuel delivery.
There are rubber/plastic lines connected at the tank (fuel pump and return line) that join with the metal hardlines that connect in front of the fuel tank. The hardlines continue via the trans tunnel and eventually end up near the wiper motor and connect with the flex line ending at the engine/fuelrail. Looking at the Ford shop manual, tanks and fuel lines section, (pages 24-50-24 and 24-50-31) it appears that the only vehicles with metal hardlines routing similar to the 86 SVO are 2.3 turbo engine applications. That would limit one to 86 SVO's, Turbo GT's, Turbo Coupes and Turbo Cougars (XR7) as metal hardline donor vehicles. Since Mustangs changed to EFI in 87 try 2.3's from 87 and up and check their fuel delivery systems as donors. Mustangs with 5.0's and 3.8's will not work.
