just make sure it's not some cheapo brand.. Walbro is good along with a couple others.. you can search on here for more info. the hi-po ones are cheaper than the OEM ones anyways.

In talking with Pat a month or so ago, he mentioned that there are a lot of WALBRO "knock-off" China-produced pumps being sold there. Buyer Beware.

I would pony up another $15-$20 that the reputable companies are charging to make sure you get the real deal.

              My $.02.

I picked up a Walbro 255 last summer. It is one noisy pump!

When the car first starts and idles....nice and quiet....
Drive it a bit, get on it a bit, when you idle again at a light, you hear this annoying buzzing sound.....

I kinda wish I didnt get the 255 and went with some other smaller option. I've read posts that some others pumps are noisy also. I guess its a hit or miss?

I've heard a few people say this, and I was worried about it when I put in my 255, but mine is quieter than the stock pump I pulled out.

I paid $116 for mine. I called Paul and he told me where and which one to get.

I agree with Eric, my 255 HP is quieter than the 155 I just replaced, which was quieter than my stocker. Make sure you get the HP (High Pressure) version of the pump and that you use the rubber isolator on the bottom of the pump to isolate some of the noise.

jimmatczak, you must have gotten a 'bad' one or maybe the pump wasn't held snug by the sheetmetal frame? I had to 'tweak' my frame to make it tight against the pump, so it would rattle.

Make sure it is the GSS 340. They make a 255 low pressure unit, I have been kind of wondering if some of them have been labeled as hi pressure units when they were not.

Ditto. APEUSA.com was the first to expose the chinese Walbro copies in detail and warn the consumers. They also did a group buy deal several years ago for the Turbo Ford crowd.
