OK guys, help with this one, please.....
I just went through the whole engine. Cleaned everything, new gaskets, etc.
It runs really rough now.
If I pull the spark plug wire off of cylinder 3 it has little effect. If I pull it off of 2 and 3 at the same time, its almost the same. Pull the wire off of only 1 or 4 - wont even hold an idle. Cylinder 3 and maybe even cylinder 2 is dead for some reason.
My thinking is cylinder 3 could be dead and because of the firing order 2 therfore has little impact as its already limping along. Or it could be both.
Did a compression check and they all come up good. Around 160 on all 4.
I have a new 255lph pump (Its an 84 with just the single pump now) and I get 41 psi and 36 psi with the regulator plugged in.
checked for spark at all wires. All good. put new plugs in it for giggles...no difference. wires also check out ok. checked coil, tfi module ohms. New cap/rotor. Seems to not be an ignition problem - only affecting cylinder 3 and maybe 2.
Unbolted the fuel rail and moved it over to the fender. Checked those connections for continuity to each injector and for volts. After doing a KOEO test, if I WOT, the injectors dont spray (any of them). Should they?
If I briefly ground out the wires in the fuel rail connector, injectors 1/2 and injectors 3/4 do spray.
Any ideas?????
Thanks in advance
